Pictures of Afghanistan taken on a private trip from Germany to Afghanistan in 1970, performed with a VW Beetle that is occasionally seen on the slides. These photos show and document the country before it had been occupied by the Soviet Union in December 1979. Since then, the country has been destroyed and thrown into chaos by warlords, the Taliban, and interference from foreign powers.
