Armenian Architecture in Turkey

Here is a collection of analog photos and slides from the 1960s - 1980s, when the former (historical) Armenian capital ANI was difficult and restricted to access because the exposed area (military zone) was directly on the border with the former Soviet Union (now Republic of Armenia). In addition to Ani, numerous other Armenian churches (including Hoshavank/ Horomos, Tekor, Cengelli, St. Bartholomäus Monastery, Soradir) are presented, the condition of which may have deteriorated further in the meantime. This is demonstrated by a few selected examples. Work in progress ....
